The Portland Timbers released a roster status update ahead of the 2021 season. Here’s a quick breakdown of notable news from the release:
- The Timbers have exercised their 2021 contract options for the following 8 players: Eryk Williamson, Cristhian Paredes, Blake Bodily, Dairon Asprilla, Aljaz Ivacic, Julio Cascante, Zac McGraw, and Renzo Zambrano.
- As previously reported, Portland has declined the options on midfielder Andres Flores and defender Chris Duvall.
- The Timbers are currently in discussions to bring back Larrys Mabiala and Felipe Mora. Mabiala’s contract has expired, but Portland remains in discussions with him.
