Stumptown Footy meet-up for Seattle Away?

If you're anything like me, you're getting pretty excited for Seattle away this year. I couldn't go last year but this year I fully plan on going, no matter what our record or how good/bad we look heading in. I got to thinking about this today, and this might be a bit tricky to arrange considering the pandemonium that will be 7:00pm tomorrow, but does anyone else think it might be fun to try and get a good number of us Stumptown Footy folks on the same bus for Seattle away this year? I think it could work out and be a good time. I know a bunch of TA folks, but many of them have kids/can't make the trip. While I'm sure regardless of which bus you ride you're going to meet a bunch of awesome folks and make loads of new friends, it might be kind of fun to get a good Stumptown Footy crew going.

If anyone is interested, it probably would work well to choose one of the less-popular breweries to bus in, just because we'd have a better chance of getting us all on the same bus. Anyway, more just a feeler to put out there to gauge interest. We haven't had the long-discussed meet up yet, and what better time to do so than a 6 hour round trip bus ride to our Cascadian rival's home?

Alright guys, I don't believe I have to say this but, just in case, please do not submit anything racist, homophobic, sexist or otherwise not appropriate for even the younger Timbers fans.

Luckily

With 1500 tickets (and 1000 bus seats) available, I don’t think you’ll have a problem with a massive run and sell out buses from day one. You should have enough time to figure something out, especially if you don’t care which bus you’re on.

Which is rad. If it works out, great! I’d love to be able to put some names to faces. If not, I’m sure we’ll all end up on buses that will be full of awesome.

Just to throw out a wider net, it might be good to gun for some bus that might not have the higher traffic, i.e. really popular breweries like Ninkasi, Deschutes, Laurelwood, Hopworks, etc. Maybe something like Amnesia, Caldera (as mentioned about by ForeverPTFC), Good Life, Gigantic, Cascade Lakes, or Phat Matt’s. All of them are going to have beer, and I’m sure these smaller guys would be giving something pretty tasty to show off their goods. Maybe we get a top three and then we go in that order?

Thoughts? We have until 7pm tonight to hammer it out. I’ll be buying right at 7 just to make sure we (my girlfriend and I) get tickets and can rest easy. I know they’ve said it might be tough to switch buses at the last minute and without a bit of hassle.

If it works out I think it could be fun. If not, maybe we can arrange an area to sit in together or meet up at halftime later on down the road closer to the match.

Hell, I’ve never even heard of Phat Matt’s, so why not? I’m buying with my friend right at 7, so should we try to get those buses in that order?

Just as an FYI

I’m told there are another medium sized group of bros who are going to try to get in on the Phat Matt bus. Not that the two groups wouldn’t fit, but maybe better to play it safe while the getting’s still good.

Let’s do Amnesia and hope for Copacetic IPA. So delicious. Caldera for a second sounds like a plan. Only an hour left, hope that works for everyone and if not, I’ll be on the Amnesia bus anyway haha.

My Brother Kesjare and I are going up and would be willing to take a couple others with us. Of course as many of you know this would be imbibe free drive up but two built in designated drivers on the way back!

We will sell it out indeed! Shocked that Ninkasi lasted this long. Guess fans don’t wanna make the same mistake I made in 08 Shittle away…get bombed on IPA and then have to go puke at a rest stop in Longview. Ah, the youthful idiocies.

So what’s the scoop? Shall we have a social pre Rapids game and see if we can actually stand each other or what? Haha
