Powell will join his former PTFC teammate Fanendo Adi for Cincinnati’s inaugural MLS season along a backline which, per Taylor Twellman, seems to be shaping up to include Greg Garza, Kendall Waston, and Mathieu Deplagne.
Powell spent six seasons with the Timbers and lifted MLS Cup with the team in 2015. In his time, he scored 10 goals and registered 10 assists for the club while also featuring regularly for the Jamaican National Team.
In a press conference this month, Gavin Wilkinson spoke highly of Powell’s time with the Timbers, saying that telling Powell he was likely to depart Portland was, “probably one of the hardest meetings I’ve ever had to be a part of.”
Watch all six of Powell’s goals for the Timbers.
